Bethia’s origins are rooted in a family passion: the breeding of thoroughbred race horses.
In 1987, Liliana Solari Falabella bought an estate in Los Angeles and founded the breeding farm “Haras Don Alberto”. She was following in her father’s footsteps, Alberto Solari Magnasco, a renowned breeder.
Ms. Solari’s children, Andrea and Carlos Heller, developed business ventures based on the stables: a dairy named Ancali and milk transportation trucks (Sotraser).
Bethia, the company name, was taken from one of the first winning mares. This brought together the emerging family business.
Haras Don Alberto is now the main horse breeding farm in Chile. In 2013 it became part of the equestrian world elite with the purchase of Vinery, a major horse breeding farm in Kentucky, United States.
Bethia is one of the most important and diversified business groups in Chile. It has been present for over 25 years in several economic sectors.
The group’s productive activities center on agriculture, through Ancali; transport, through Sotraser and Blue Express; wine, through Bethwines; and communications through MEGA. All in all, Bethia employs more than 4,500 people.
In addition to the above, the group has long-term investments in Falabella, LATAM Airlines, Colmena and Aguas Andinas, among others.

To be an important economic group for the country by creating
Our model is based on six basic
principles: top quality milk, cow
comfort, efficient use of technology,
genetic selection, process efficiency,
and human resources.
Thanks to Ancali we revolutionized dairy and livestock production. We combined technology, animal care and sustainability to achieve enhanced performance.
It is the most important stabled dairy in South America and, world-wide, one of the most technologically advanced. The model is based on the principle of “cow comfort”, which allows for high productivity with maximum care for the stock and the environment.
Ancali is a pioneer in terms of innovation. In 2013, it developed one of the largest biodigesters in Latin America. In 2014 it was one of the first dairies in the world to implement a robotic dairy.
We provide comprehensive, specialized
services, adapted to the specific needs
of our customers in practically all
areas of economic activity.
With more than 700 trucks that deliver specialized services for Chile’s major
industries –particularly mining and forestry— Sotraser is the largest land
freight operator in Chile.
With over 20 years of experience, the Company, which originated in the
Bethia group, provides services that range from transporting freight by road
throughout the country to moving special loads –either due to their large
size or weight—including hazardous materials such as fuels and chemicals.
Sotraser is known for delivering services that stand out for high quality
and safety: its trucks are fully equipped with GPS systems which are
supported by a central continuous monitoring system.
In terms of infrastructure support, Sotraser has first class equipment for
the operation and maintenance of its trucks. This includes ensuring that
its truck drivers get a chance to rest properly.
Sotraser is certified under ISO 9001: 2000, ISO 14001: 2004;
OHSAS 18001: 2007. It also has the Energy Efficiency label awarded by
the Ministry of Energy.
It is the national leader in outsourcing of physical distribution, warehousing, inventory management and international courier services. It also provides value added services such as order processing, shipment tracking and labeled packaging, among others. The Company was founded in 1996 and, after being purchased by the Bethia Group in 2011, a major investment plan was launched. This involved building a storage center and a world class sorter covering a total of 50,000 square meters strategically located in the district of Pudahuel. Thanks to the quality and efficiency of its service, Blue Express has turned into a strategic partner for companies by helping them to manage their supply chains so that they only need to concentrate on their business.
Its management system helps make operations flexible and release unnecessary assets.
We are fully focused on the needs and
requirements of our customers, aiming
to create a supply that increasingly gives
them more value. We employ a proactive
approach to detecting market trends.
At Bethwines we joined the distinctive features of important
Chilean wineries and managed to achieve a position as a
major role in foreign markets.
Bethia entered the wine business in 2006 through the purchase
of Viña Indómita. Nearly a decade later it established Bethwines,
which is one of the eight largest producers in Chile.
This wine holding is present in over 50 countries.
In addition to sturdy marketing channels, Bethwines offers a
series of wines that cover the full range of varieties, climates
and soils that characterize Chilean wine.
We are carrying out an ambitious
restructuring so as to have the best
technical and human capabilities
that strengthen as us as leaders
MEGA allows us to be part of the lives of millions of Chileans. We are concentrating on strengthening it as an attractive media with a view to turning it into the largest TV contents factory in the South East Pacific.
MEGA was established in 1990 as the first privately-owned free-to-air television channel in Chile. It was purchased by Bethia in 2012, which has promoted an independent, liberal and transversal program line. Starting with the creation of areas devoted to drama, culture, sports and reality shows, together with the strategic choice of foreign products (the Turkish soap operas), and strengthening the press section, MEGA has positioned itself as the TV channel most watched by Chileans, with record ratings. In addition, MEGA holds the marketing and broadcasting rights to all matches played by the Chilean national football team up to 2018, which completes the broad range of programs it offers.
In addition to the above, an investment of US$ 50 million was made to expand Mega’s facilities and bring in state-of-the-art television technology. A new development took place in 2016 with the purchase of 27.5 percent of the channel by Discovery Communications, the communications giant. Thus, MEGA was launched onto the international scene and reaffirms its commitment to becoming a global contents factory.
